This health care scare is neither the world’s first nor will it be the last. Veterans Technology Systems mission is simple, ALWAYS BE PREPARED! Regardless if it is a simple cold or a deadly viral infection the spread of known and unknown diseases is rapidly growing with no end in sight! To that end Veterans Technology Systems, Inc. has decided to step up and remain on the cutting edge of technology by designing the first of its kind; The Mobile Diagnostic BSL4 lab to help keep the world safer.

Ebola is a deadly viral infection that leads to internal and external bleeding. Often fatal, with a 90% death rate. The disease is rapidly transmitted through direct contact and poses an immediate risk to healthcare workers and first-line responders. Now we have the Coronavirus 2019-nCov a double threat and a shortage of labs and tests being performed.  To detect Ebola Biological Safety Level 4 (BSL4) laboratories are required. Nationally and worldwide currently there are only a limited number of fixed brick and mortar BSL4 laboratories and none are mobile.

These large and expensive facilities are difficult to operate and are often located far from infected regions where patients are located. Costs are a huge problem?  In 2005 a brick and mortar BSL4 laboratory cost about $250 million. Recently, the most recent laboratory in Boston cost nearly $450 million! Any portable BSL4 laboratory would need to be rugged, small, safe, mobile, self-supporting and off the grid capable coupled with state-of-the-art communications and security measures. The concept of such a laboratory is extremely challenged to comply with the stringent BSL4 requirements.

Veteran’s Technology Systems (VTS) has developed an innovative solution for the mobile BSL4 pathogen detection problem called the Mobile Diagnostic BSL 4 Laboratory (MDL4). The MDL4 can diagnose Ebola and the Coronavirus at a fraction of the cost of a fixed laboratory anywhere in the world and at any time. This state-of-the-art mobile laboratory complies with all USA CDC BSL4 requirements and costs a mere fraction of a fixed laboratory.  It is our belief that the MDL4 will revolutionize the safety and efficiency of portable BSL4 infectious agent disease diagnosis.
